Dang, those are some strong words... I applaud you and your friend for taking that stand, and I wish I was as spiritually strong as you.

I'll say I'm a Christian proudly, but when it comes to actually witnessing I'm a flat-out spineless coward. Even when it comes to witnessing to my friends. I pray for my unsaved friends and family every day, but when it comes to actually witnessing to them I feel too afraid to do anything. I'm not worried about them stopping being friends with me... I'm just worried that I'll screw up majorly and end up making them turn away from God entirely, ruining any chance of their getting saved. It's that very fear that keeps me from witnessing to them.

...Urgh, sorry for dumping that all on you right there... But yeah, it's good that you're taking this stand. I'll be praying for you.

No, you're not dumping anything. I know exactly how you feel. I don't gain courage to do this stuff much anymore. I still have trouble talking to the folks at my school about it. But it all starts with one step.

I so agree with you, and I needed to read a journal like this. I have the same problem right now. Most of my friends..... almost all of them...... either don't believe in God or believe that God has "adapted" to today's society. I want to say that they're wrong, I want to stop them from thinking that, but I end up not doing so in fear that they'll get mad at me, that we'll get into a fight. Because last time God was brought up, that's what happened. We fought.

I'll have to pray about finding the courage to speak out, and I really wish that I can be as confident about this topic as you are. *end post*

*sigh* I really do have a problem with this. I've seen my friends talking about how they don't believe in God, all religions pretty much lead to the same thing, how God's just like Santa Claus, he's not real and was made up so people could be good or whatever. One of my friends..... one of her characters has an upside down cross for a necklace. And all this time I just keep my mouth shut, because I'm afraid. I'm afraid that they'll all gang up on me, and that we'll fight again. Last time we fought, we all almost broke up because I was talking openly with another Christian about God on my website. They didn't want to see what we were talking about, and what they did see made them so disgusted and angry that it was disturbing that God was such an enemy to them.

I really need to pray to God for strength and courage, for isn't that what Christians are told to do? To spread the word even if you may have a few risks with that? Heck, way back people died for spreading the word. All we have to face is a few spats....
